Wondering How to Make Laundry Fun? 7 Ideas for Loads of Giggles

Laundry is the worst. If like me, you dread the task of sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing laundry, imagine how your kid feels - not only is Mom busy, she's also irritated by the task.

When my editors gave me this assignment, I knew I'd enjoy it. After all, I needed a few ideas for how to make laundry fun at our house, too. Previously, I'd been listening to podcasts, trying to ignore the kids. This project actually inspired me to engage with the littles while doing laundry. Imagine that - a writer benefiting from her own advice.

I took over 60 original images for this article, because I was having so much fun with activities. Only 3 made their way into the original published piece, and the others are for me to enjoy alone...and here with you.

Are you excited to see the final product? I'm delighted to share it with you. Here it is. I hope enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed crafting it.

P.S. - If I could offer a bit of advice to other freelance writers, it would be to not ditch those podcasts. Sure, I nixed listening while I connected with the kids during laundry tasks, but as soon as they scattered, I hit "play." My favorite podcast for freelance writers is The Portfolio Life with Jeff Goins. Check it out!
