How to Celebrate National Teddy Bear Day In Style
A few weeks ago, Build-a-Bear invited me to write an article about National Teddy Bear Day. That's right, teddy bears get their own day. And you, depending on your fun-o-meter, get to celebrate it.
I didn't know where to start. Let's be honest. It's Build-a-Bear Workshop, and come on - National Teddy Bear Day. I was conflicted. This was either a heavy responsibility or the biggest occasion for silliness... ever.
I was on the phone with my husband that day, talking about our family's schedule. "What do your deadlines look like today?" he asked, hoping I'd gotten all my writing assignments done early.
"It's big, Joel," I admitted.
"Oh, no. What? What is big?" he begged me to spit it out.
"This is a big assignment - it's National Teddy Bear Day!" I white-knuckled the phone.
Pause.
How did we get here? I don't know, but my husband's laughter was all I needed to craft one of the most lighthearted, creative, and yes, silly articles I've ever put together.
By the time I was done with the piece, I had to nix about four pages of ideas from the final product, because the wit was flying.
Here it is. How to Celebrate National Teddy Bear Day (like the serious, buttoned-up grownup you are). Please enjoy it, because I really did face-swap a bear to achieve this level of awesome.
Brand news is my version of celebrity gossip. And yesterday, Burger King pulled an "OMG" on me. I'm squealing like a fan girl as I consume the fallout. What a sick, beautiful story of consumer psychology.
